I just joined anything_goes, a panfandom drabble prompt comm. I am petrified of writing but want desperately to get better at it. It's a small, relatively inactive community- if someone, anyone were to drop me a prompt there, I would get up from my wheelie chair and dance in my cube. Literally. That is a promise.

I know there were links about this process back during the initial phases of Strikethrough 07, but I can't find them now. How do I copy my LJ over to IJ? How long does it tend to take? I have about numerous hundreds of entries to migrate from five years of writing. With LJ being sold to SUP, I want backups.

ETA: Found the linkage. Backup procedures will begin this week.

Can anyone tell me if there's a community on IJ for fic-reccing purposes? I'm on a hunt for the following fandoms:

Sharpe
Master&Commander / The Aubrey/Maturin books
PotC (+10 points for Sparrington)
BtVS/AtS (+10 points for Willow/anyone)
Anything else anyone thinks I MUST READ although I haven't watched television sincce May so I'm a bit behind.

mood: weird

Last week was a bloody roller coaster which did eventually end well. Now hopefully things will be quieter. I missed an appointed chat time with redscorner... We need to reschedule that. Given the timezone differences it may almost make more sense to email or comment.

It was still pitch-dark outside when I woke up, and now it's dim and gray. I'm displeased because it's a little chilly by my standards, but very pleased indeed because we hadn't had any rain in about four weeks.

Apologies to anyone who has been trying to work with me on anything- redscorner, I'm talking to you-

My workplace have tightened their internet usage policy. I got out of the habit of checking IJ for a while, but now I'm back.

So, I'm making this IJ mostly to enable me to follow fandom as it migrates. I've heard all of the arguments about why we should delete our LJs, and aside from feeling horribly guilty I'm not convinced. The guilt doesn't sway me, you see, because weather patterns, other peoples' bad moods, and innocent unsuspecting puppies have all been known to make me feel guilty so really the emotion shouldn't be allowed to carry much weight with me anymore.

I'm keeping my LJ until such time as all my non-fandom friends go somewhere else. This IJ is where I'll likely be posting fic if I ever produce any, and likely that's all.
